Newton (formerly Neurolens) announced that its newly-launched Sequel lens technology is now available through VSP—expanding patient access across the United States.
This is pretty major … but first, remind me about the Newton-Neurolens rebrand.
The innovation company debuted its new name last month after operating for 13 years as a medical device and healthcare technology company (with its namesake Neurolens system).
Did this change the company’s product offerings as well?
Not at all. While the rebrand represented a new direction and vision care focus for the company, its original lenses and technology aren’t going anywhere:
- Neurolenses, the world’s first and only therapeutic lenses that have been clinically proven to provide relief for headaches, motion sickness, and neck pain
- Contoured Prism technology, a uniquely designed prism embedded in the company’s lenses
- Read up on this here
- N3 binocular alignment measurement device (details here)
That’s a relief. Now talk more about this new Sequel lens technology.
Launched just days after the company rebrand, Sequel is Newton’s first product under its new name.
What to know about it: The single-vision, anti-fatigue lens is designed for progressive lens wearers’ digital-heavy lifestyles by addressing both accommodation and convergence.
- And it’s also equipped with a new patented technology: Convergence Boost Lens Technology, intended to improve patients’ visual comfort and clarity (see here for exactly how).
Is this just one lens then?
Not at all. In fact, Sequel comes in multiple designs for patients of all ages.

As a bonus: A recent consumer product testing of the Sequel lens found it reduced digital eye strain symptoms by 50%—”delivering exceptional visual comfort both on-screen and off,” according to Newton.
Nice! Now to this VSP coverage—where can patients access Sequel?
Sequel lenses are now reported to be accessible via the following locations:
Per Newton: More labs are expected to be added soon.
