DAB Cosmetics LLC has launched a new eye-focused cosmetics brand designed with ocular health and safety in mind: Ev’r Beauty.

Established in 2022, DAB Cosmetics was founded as an eye-focused beauty company by a Jacksonville, Florida-based optometrist: Kim Riordan, OD, FAAO.
- Her background: Currently in practice at Florida Eye Specialists, Dr. Riordan has spent the last 16 years specializing in dry eye disease (DED), meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD), ocular allergy, and contact lens discomfort.
The mission: “to build a line of eye makeup and skincare that women can trust, allowing them to look and feel beautiful without sacrificing comfort or eye health.”
Zero in on ocular health—from a cosmetic standpoint.
Clinical research over the years has explored the potential risks and adverse effects associated with cosmetic product use—particulary for the eye.
A few contributing factors: Ingredient lists that may induce allergic ocular reactions or irritation and improper (not to mention overly aggressive) application / removal techniques.
From mascara to eyeliner and eyeshadow to eye tints—even eye makeup removers and artificial lashes—these products have been linked to a range of “undesired effects.”
And this new cosmetic brand aims to address these?
Indeed. As a division of DAB Cosmetics, Ev’r Beauty is built entirely around ocular health.
Its aim: To provide alternative cosmetic products specifically formulated with DED patients in mind, in alignment with modern dry eye management strategies.

Its inaugural products: Clean Lash Mascara and Ultra Hydrating Eye Balm
Tell me about these.
We’ll start with the Clean Lash Mascara, which was formulated by Dr. Riordan and clinically tested for ocular safety to validate its use for sensitive eyes and dry eye patients.
To note: This is a water-resistant (not waterproof) mascara encompassing a hybrid formula that allows for all-day wear and easy removal (with warm water).
- The intent: To reduce the need for makeup removers and the potential for harsh rubbing, which causes "mechanical trauma to the lid margin and periocular skin.”
And its formulation?
Is referred to as “clean by design,” in that it’s free of ingredients often linked to cosmetic-related ocular inflammation or irritation: parabens, formaldehyde donors, phenoxyethanol, methylisothiazolinone (MIT), nylon fibers, and other harsh preservatives.
What it does include: A so-called “advanced preservation system” with shea butter, glycerin, propanediol, Vitamin E and pro-Vitamin B5—plus two key additions to support lash health:
- Biotin (Vitamin B7) to nourish and promote lash strength
- Biotinoyl tripteptide-1 to reduce lash fallout
Alrighty, now onto this eye balm.
The Ultra Hydrating Eye Balm is formulated to deliver long-lasting hydration and comfort to the periorbital area around the eyes.
Specifically: The balm was developed to offer hydration without the use of ingredients that may cause sensitivity in patients with DED, blepharitis, rosacea, and chronic ocular allergy.

Per the company, its balm is free of fragrances, essential oils, drying alcohols, parabens, retinoids, and harsh exfoliating acids.
So what’s actually included in its formulation?
Key ingredients such as glycerin, sweet almond oil, and seaweed extract—intended to “support hydration and skin barrier function around the eyes.”
