Harrow has launched PharmaPack, a new direct-to-prescriber (DTP) cash-pay program designed to improve nationwide access to its FDA-approved ophthalmic products.

Let’s start with the basics.

To reiterate, the PharmaPack program is intended to address the long-standing challenge in ophthalmology of providing patients with “reliable and affordable FDA-approved therapies.”

  • Specifically: Patients requiring infection control and treatment for pain and inflammation associated with cataract surgery.

And how is it doing this?

By offering two PharmaPack “kits” featuring the company’s branded products as alternatives to off-label compounded formulations with “100% transparent” and affordable pricing:

  • PharmaPack Max
    • The price: $38
  • PharmaPack Prime
    • The price: $48

Harrow also noted that these kits “remove insurance-related administrative complexity and reduce regulatory and medical-legal risk associated with off-label compounded products.”

So which products are included in the kits?

Each kit comes with 20 boxes of two products (see below) each, for a total of 40 bottles.

In the Max kit:

  • MAXITROL (neomycin and polymyxin B sulfates and dexamethasone ophthalmic suspension)
    • View the full prescribing information (PI) here.
  • NEVANAC (nepafenac ophthalmic suspension) 0.1%
    • View the full PI here.

In the Prime kit:

  • TOBRADEX ST (tobramycin and dexamethasone ophthalmic suspension) 0.3%/0.05%
    • View the full PI here.
  • NEVANAC (nepafenac ophthalmic suspension) 0.1%

And how are these available for patients?

PharmaPack kits will be available to prescribers as part of an initial rollout in five states (though Harrow plans to expand nationwide in the coming weeks):

  • Alabama
  • Arkansas
  • California
  • Connecticut
  • Mississippi

Importantly: The kits are accessible via Harrow’s subsidiary ImprimisRx—the largest specialized ophthalmic compounding business in the U.S.—and shipped through PhilRx, national mail-order specialty pharmacy partners.

Specifically, though, how can prescribers order a kit?

ImprimisRx customers can access the PharmaPack offerings via the home screen of their account dashboard, or directly from here (for the Max kit) and here (for the Prime kit).

And for any questions regarding the ordering process (or availability), prescribers are directed to contact their Harrow or ImprimisRx representative, or reach out directly to Harrow’s exclusive PharmaPack email.
