Eyes On Eyecare held its annual Eyes On Dry Eye virtual event earlier this month with nearly 4,000 attendees (optometrists, ophthalmologists, and support staff) spanning the dry eye space.

No worries if you missed it—we’ve got the rundown below (and there’s always next year)!

First, the technical details.

Held March 14 and 15, this two-day educational event featured a virtual Exhibit Hall, educational sessions (with continuing education possible!), and clinical experts delivering a “dry eye arsenal” of topics, trends, and the latest products and technology pertaining to ocular surface disease (OSD).

By the numbers:

  • +12K hours of education delivered across all sessions
  • +5K check-ins at the virtual Exhibit Hall booths
  • +330 early access downloads of the 2025 Dry Eye Report (more on that later)

And the content?

With topics covering new therapeutic targets, systemic disease, and neuro-optometry, a few of the sessions hosted included:

  • Next-gen treatments and innovations
  • Everything to know about Demodex
  • An anterior segment perspective on ocular rheumatology
  • Dry eye case challenges
  • Designing, building, and branding a dry eye spa

Talk about hot topics! And who presented these?

With Ahmad Fahmy, OD, FAAO, and Damon Dierker, OD, FAAO, serving as program co-chairs, educational sessions were presented by the following optometric and ophthalmic experts:

Circle back to these education sessions … which was most popular?

That would be Future Frontiers: Next Generation Treatments and Innovations in DED, presented by Dr. Abbott.

  • Staying well-prepared and informed on key mechanisms of action involved in OSD treatment
  • Enhancing treatment protocols with novel new medications.
  • Latest breakthroughs and emerging therapies in OSD management
  • How novel OSD treatments can best augment currently available treatments

Any other notable sessions?

Indeed … including a brand-new Q&A session (sponsored by Tarsus and Bausch + Lomb) with Dr. Damon Dierker!

In the Hot Seat: A Live Q&A with Dr. Damon Dierker Regarding All Things DED invited attendees to ask their most pressing questions regarding dry eye—and get expert top tips and personal advice from the dry eye expert himself.

And which exhibitors did I miss?

A few big names were in this year’s virtual Exhibit Hall:

  • Tarsus Pharmaceuticals
  • Viatris
  • Sun Ophthalmics
  • Lumenis
  • CSI Dry Eye Software

  • Included in this year’s report: The latest insights into the DED field, from the leading causes of dry eye to the most effective diagnostic tools, innovative procedures, and trusted treatments

But don’t worry—the report is FREE and available to download here (even if you didn’t attend the event).
