As part of its ongoing efforts to promote daily eye health, myze has announced the launch of its first branded product: The Daily Lid Wipe.
First up: myze.
The digital health platform markets itself as providing “easy and affordable access to daily eye care products and routines,” as determined by dry eye and ocular surface disease (OSD) clinical experts.
Among its offerings are personalized eye care routines, products, and educational resources—all targeting ocular relief.
Speaking of ocular relief, wasn't the platform involved in recent research?
Relatively recent (as of November 2023) … and yes!
An institutional review board (IRB)-approved study presented during last year’s East West Eye Care Conference investigated the impact of extended gaming sessions combined with limited fluid intake among college-aged students who might experience dry eye.
The gist of those findings: This was the first study of its kind targeting dry eye symptoms in the gaming community, with prolonged periods of gaming in front of a digital screen leading to the development of dry eye symptoms.
Nice! Now this new product.
myze’s The Daily Lid Wipe cleansing wipes joins the platform’s existing product lineup of top brands—including OPTASE (Scope); iVIZIA (Théa); and TearRestore, to name a few.
About this product: Available in a box of 30 individually-wrapped sterile packets, the preservative-free formulated wipes are also free of parabens, GMOS, and synthetic fragrance.

And do these come clinically recommended?
Indeed they do. In fact, myze noted that the wipes were formulated based on clinical input from two ocular surface experts:
So … why lid wipes?
As myze Founder and CEO Scott Tannenbaum stated, “There is a huge unmet need to educate on the importance of lid hygiene and provide customers access to a product that is unique and modern.”
The company also noted: “Regular eyelid and lash hygiene is essential to remove debris, oils, and allergens that can accumulate, leading to irritation or dry eye symptoms.”
Case in point?
Prior research has noted that, while lid hygiene is a commonly prescribed first-line therapy for patients with lid margin disease, “compliance with therapy is not well characterized,” and, at best, “moderate” among patients with dry eye symptoms.
- A key finding from that research: Patients who performed the lid hygiene routine noted improvement in symptoms.
Even further: A separate study on lid hygiene both before and following cataract surgery noted that the use of preservative-free disposable sterile eyelid wipes was “found to improve subjective symptoms and prevent blepharitis and MGD exacerbation after cataract surgery.”
Go on …
With more at-home or in-office treatment treatments becoming readily accessible for patients in recent years, incorporating eyelid and lash hygiene into a patient’s daily routine is a critical—and relatively easy—step in protecting their ocular health, according to Dr. Koetting.
“We often neglect basic daily eye care during our morning or nighttime routines,” she said. “By incorporating daily lid hygiene into your self care, you are working to gently remove potentially harmful bacteria and irritants from both the eyelids and the skin around your eyes."
Last question … where can I purchase these?
myze is accepting pre-orders now, with all orders placed expected to ship on Oct. 30.
Before shipping and handling, each 30-count box is $25.95.
*Note: The wipes are available to both eye care providers and patients.
