Eyes On Eyecare’s (EOE’s) second annual Implementation Pathways to Dry Eye Practice Success is launching this upcoming weekend, beginning with Series 1 (of two) for eyecare professionals (ECPs).

Refresh me on this series.

Implementation Pathways to Dry Eye Practice Success is designed for ECPs serious about investing in and growing their dry eye practices.

Held over the course of two weekends, the upcoming virtual event is broken down into two series:

  • Series 1: Diagnosis to Action: Implementing Cutting-Edge Dry Eye Strategies
  • Series 2: Beyond Dryness: Building Preventative Dry Eye Strategies

How does Pathways differ from Eyes On Dry Eye?

While Eyes On Dry Eye focuses on clinical research, skills, and education, Pathways highlights practical insights that elevate a practice’s current dry eye offerings and empower primary care optometrists to open a dry eye specialty clinic.

The four-part series held in 2023 was a nexus for committed ECPs to connect with technical experts for guidance on optimal purchases for their practice and implementation strategies to boost efficiency and practice success.

To note, 70% of ECP attendees reported that they have purchasing power in their practices or the ability to influence decision-makers.

Now let’s talk series setup.

Each series ranges from 5- to 6-hour days, complete with expert input from the country’s top dry eye specialists on clinical, technical, and practice advice as well as business management and fund allocation for prospective capital expenditures.

And these specialists are …

To name a few:

  • Doug Devries, OD
  • Frances S. Mah, MD
  • Marc D. Myers, OD, FAAO
  • Michael Greenwood, MD
  • Sathi Maiti, OD, FAAO
  • Adam Ramsey, OD
  • Bita Asghari, OD, FAAO
  • Hardeep K. Kataria, OD, FAAO
  • Marc R. Bloomenstein, OD FAAO

Give me a preview of these topics.

Attendees can expect a deep dive into key areas for practice success including:

  • Dry Eye Manifestations of Existing and New Systemic Medications
  • Hitting a Business Homerun: Implementing Practice Strategies for Clinic Tomorrow
  • Are You Ready to Implement Amniotic Tissue in Your Practice?
  • The Tortoise and The Hare: Weighing in on Glaucoma’s Impact on DED
  • Not Your Typical Dry Eye: Case Report Rapid Fire

And what practice tips will attendees learn about?

  • How different classes of medications impact ocular surface health
  • Ways to innovate and adapt optometric practices to thrive and compete in today’s unique healthcare landscape
  • Steps to embrace technology as another component of workflow efficiency
  • Co-management skills that build strong relationships with leading ophthalmologists, healthcare providers, and other ECPs
  • What you need to know about the complexity of long-term glaucoma treatment and dry eye disease
  • Rapid-fire case reports that outline what to do when complications of dry eye disease derail your typical workflow

What else will the series offer?

Presenting dry eye specialists and technical experts will be available to answer any burning dry eye questions attendees may have.

Plus, a group and peer-to-peer chat functionality will enable networking and professional connections among attendees throughout the event.

I have to ask … any prizes?

I don’t blame you … and yes! Attendees will also have opportunities to win $500 in raffle prizes during each series event.

Here’s the big-ticket question: When is the series?

  • Series 1: May 11, 2024
  • Series 2: May 18, 2024

So about registration … can any ECP attend?

Not quite; the Pathways Series is exclusive to ECPs who are “series about taking their dry eye practice to the next level,” according to EoE.

In other words: This event isn’t appropriate for entry-level learners.

Noted. Where can I register?
