If the process of providing patients with access to CEQUA is challenging in your office, there is a new solution. Sun Ophthalmics has recently initiated a partnership with PhilRx to ease the prescribing process.
What is PhilRx?
PhilRx is a patient access platform that simplifies how patients receive their prescriptions. The platform streamlines the often-complicated steps of prescribing by verifying a patient's insurance, prepopulating the prior authorization (PA), and routing the prescription to the pharmacy. They also help reduce out-of-pocket costs by facilitating access to payer coverage approvals—thereby getting the lowest price for the patient. For CEQUA, this means as low as a $0 copay.
Does it make prior authorizations easier?
They do! PhilRx typically initiates the PA in CoverMyMeds® within minutes of confirming the patient's insurance. The platform will pre-locate/populate the patient’s insurance, and the patient will confirm insurance accuracy during the text registration. The HCP is then notified when it is ready to submit.
So how do I use it?
Select PhilRx in your EHR’s retail pharmacy finder (or call/fax the Rx) and let your patient know they will receive a text within minutes. To minimize callbacks, include the patient’s phone number, chart notes, prior tried/failed, and ICD-10 in the Rx note to the pharmacist.
If a PA is needed, PhilRx will send you a notification when it’s ready to review and sign. That’s it!
Is there a way to keep track of the prescriptions I’ve sent?
Yes! PhilRx sends a weekly summary via fax/email that includes patient cases with a pending action (either from the patient or HCP) along with the scripts that have been successfully processed/shipped.
Does this work for Medicare patients?
Yes, it does!
