Glaukos Corporation and Radius XR, Inc. are entering into a collaboration and marketing agreement for Radius XR’s wearable patient engagement and diagnostic system.

Let’s start with Radius XR.

The platform is a portable vision diagnostic and patient engagement system that incorporates medical-grade diagnostics, business management tools, and patient education resources into one wearable spatial computing device.

The goal: to more efficiently enable eye disease detection and better management as well as treatment of sight-threatening conditions.

Break it down for me.

The platform allows patients to perform self-guided vision tests with minimal supervision.

Three components are featured:

  • Wearable headset
    • Designed to fit like a pair of sunglasses; includes an all-day battery life along with onboard environment control for use in all lighting conditions.
  • Software
    • Radius Admin: remotely administer multiple patients, customize their experience, and streamline the check-in process.
    • Radius Exam: Multimodal exam app that connects to the headset; provides real-time results.
  • Business
    • Tailor media content to patient care needs by selecting from a provided media content library or creating/uploading your own content.

Go on …

Radius XR’s platform is designed to work both online and offline as well as integrate with existing practice management and electronic health record (EHR) systems such as:

  • Eyefinity
  • NextGen healthcare
  • Nextech
  • Epic
  • MaximEyes

Gotcha. Now what does this collaboration include?

Per the agreement, Glaukos will take over as exclusive sales agent to market, promote, and solicit orders for the Radius XR platform within the United States.

Radius XR will maintain its role in leading development and commercialization efforts for the platform.

Any financial details?

Nope; financial terms weren’t disclosed.

Executive input?

According to Glaukos’s Chairman and CEO Thomas Burns, the platform, “can help drive more efficient and improved diagnosis for patients suffering from chronic eye diseases, while also creating efficiency and growth opportunities for eye care practices.”

Lastly … where can I demo this?
