The Avenova Eye Health Support supplement is a softgel capsule that includes natural triglyceride omega-3 oils and MaquiBright—a nutrient-rich, antioxidant-dense extract derived from the maqui berry.
How about MaquiBright?
MaquiBright comes from the maqui berry (Aristotelia chilensis), which is rich in anthocyanins and antioxidants —such as delphinidin—and used to treat inflammation. The maqui berry extract is standardized to contain no less than 35% of total anthocyanins and at least 25% of delphinidins.
Any clinical trials to support it?
Yes! A four-week, randomized, double-blind, and placebo-controlled study assessed MaquiBright’s effects on 74 patients (ages 30 to 60 years old) who were experiencing eye dryness or fatigue, and ≥4 hours of visual display terminal (VDT) work daily.
The patients randomly and equally received either a 60 mg capsule of MaquiBright or a placebo, once a day.
What were the results?
There was a reported 89% increase in tear production and 57% improvement in dry eye discomfort among the MaquiBright-dosed patients.
