Lumibird Medical announces the launch of the next-generation handheld pachymeter, POCKET IIITM at the 16th EGS Congress in Dublin, June 1-4.
Light, connected and safe are the keywords of POCKET IIITM, the next-generation handheld pachymeter from Quantel Medical, by Lumibird Medical, the world leader in ophthalmic ultrasound.
With its ergonomic compact design POCKET III is the lightest connected handheld pachymeter on the market with just 60 grams with a precise and extended measurement range from 150 μm to 1200 μm, due to 30 MHz probe.
Last but not least, its dedicated holder allows the probe tip to be soaked safely in the disinfectant solution.
“In addition to the importance of being able to calculate corneal thickness in pre-refractive surgery, pachymetry is essential to calculate and correlate with intraocular pressure, explains François CHECINSKI, ultrasound product manager. In fact, 80 million* people suffer from glaucoma. As a practitioner, you need to know the exact thickness of the cornea to calculate the “true” value of the IOP that depends on this measurement. That’s why it is important to be able to measure corneal thickness anywhere and at any time which can be done using the POCKET III.”
The launch of the POCKET III completes the updating and harmonization of all the Quantel Medical manufacturer’s ultrasound platforms that begun a couple of years ago.
“This new pachymeter joins our wide range of new-generation ultrasound platforms, offering A/B/S/UBM/P modes exams, and further consolidates our position as world leader in ophthalmic ultrasound”, says Jean-Marc GENDRE CEO of Lumibird Medical.
POCKET III pachymeter is CE-marked and U.S. FDA 510K approved.
Delegates attending the 16th EGS Congress in Dublin, June 1-4, will have the opportunity to see this new product on the Lumibird Medical booth.
