San Diego, California – August 14, 2023 – Eyes On Eyecare today announced that its first annual Implementation Pathways to Dry Eye Practice Success (“Pathways”) exceeded projected attendance estimates for the four-part virtual series. Each five-hour program featured a specific topic related to a crucial element of dry eye disease management and was led by seasoned dry eye specialists in a “masterclass” style format.
“Today’s eyecare professionals are seeing an increase in dry eye signs and symptoms across all areas of their practices,” said Damon Dierker, OD, FAAO, and Pathways moderator. “While optometry school prepares us for how to treat a patient with dry eye disease, it doesn’t offer guidance for how to open a dry eye center—or even which tools and techniques have the greatest efficacy and ROI. Pathways fills in that gap with technical knowledge, financial strategies, and best practices from optometrists who have established successful dry eye practices and are willing to share exactly how they made that happen.”
Pathways delivered comprehensive practical knowledge, techniques, and business strategies on the following topics:
- Series 1: Getting Started With Eyecare Solutions (Saturday, May 20)
- Series 2: Next Steps With Diagnostics and In-Office Procedures (Friday, June 2)
- Series 3: Dry Eye Optimization for Lens and Refractive Surgery Patients (Saturday, July 8)
- Series 4: Advanced Management With Ocular Surface Therapeutics (Saturday, July 22)
Total attendance for all four series was 2,638, with an average attendance per series of about 660. The most popular program was Next Steps With Diagnostics and In-Office Procedures, which drew 869 eyecare professionals (ECPs).

- 8,209 pageviews on booth pages
- 5,522 unique opt-in sales leads
- 98 product inquiries
- 81 chats (including both online and offline)
Because the program was geared towards ECPs serious about investing in their dry eye practices, Pathways enabled buyers to connect with technical experts who could guide them to optimal purchases for their practice, which maximized efficiencies on both sides of the transaction. About 70% of ECPs in attendance reported they have purchasing power in their practices or the ability to influence decision-makers.
