Largest dry eye-only virtual event exceeded industry average with 67% verified attendance.
San Diego, California – March 08, 2023 – Eyes On Eyecare hosted Eyes On Dry Eye on Friday, February 24, and Saturday, February 25, 2023. The two-day virtual event was attended by more than 4,300 eyecare professionals.
The event tied last year’s record-setting attendance numbers and had a verified attendance rate of 67%—exceeding the industry average by over 17%.
“We’re thrilled with the turnout, which shows that we are delivering the education and covering topics that today’s eyecare professionals are seeking, ” said Matt Geller, co-founder and CEO, Eyes On Eyecare. “Dry eye disease affects more than 40 million Americans, and we are proud to offer the conversations, research, and insight that can help doctors provide relief to their patients.”
Attendees consumed more than 15,000 hours of content presented by more than 20 distinguished speakers.
Eighteen sponsors, including Sun Ophthalmics, TearScience, Oyster Point, and Dompe, also provided symposium content along with a super-charged Exhibit Hall, which welcomed over 10,000 attendee booth check-ins and information requests.
Highlights of the event included 7 hours of free, COPE-approved CE; peer group chats with lively discussions on questions and cutting edge topics in dry eye; more than $3,000 in raffle prizes; early access to the 2023 Dry Eye Report; and the chance to speak with representatives of top pharmaceutical, medical device, service, and other organizations in dry eye treatment and management.
Educational sessions took place in two tracks and were moderated by the Eyes On Dry Eye co-program chairs and event co-founders, Ahmad Fahmy, OD, FAAO, and Damon Dierker, OD, FAAO, as well as Jaclyn Garlich, OD, FAAO.
