Eyes On 2024 addresses biggest topics impacting eyecare in 2024

Three top eyecare professionals took home $40,000 in prize money

San Diego, California – December 6, 2023 – Eyes On Eyecare concluded Eyes On 2024 on Saturday, November 11, 2023. The two-day educational summit was the largest virtual eyecare event of the year with over 3,000 attendees, six hours of complimentary COPE-accredited CE, and additional clinical and sponsored sessions of premier, real-time learning on the hottest optometry and ophthalmology trends coming in 2024.

Attendance was consistent with last year’s Eyes On 2023 event, signifying a steady and loyal following of optometrists and ophthalmologists dedicated to acquiring the latest clinical evidence and best practices, research, and patient implementation solutions.

"Innovation is occurring at a dramatic rate in our field,” said Matt Geller, OD, co-founder, and CEO of Eyes On Eyecare. “In this last year, two new retinal drugs were made available as well as new approaches to treat and manage glaucoma, cataracts, myopia, oculoplastics, and more. It’s almost impossible to keep up with the trends if you have a busy practice—but in two days, Eyes On 2024 delivered clinical and technical knowledge optometrists and ophthalmologists could immediately leverage when they returned to their practices. ”

Some of the most notable sessions attended were Iveric Bio’s “Visualizing Geographic Atrophy; The Importance of Early Detection for Early Protection,” by Amy Cryz, OD; Dompe’s “Neurotrophic Keratitis: Overview of Disease, Diagnosis, and Therapeutic Strategies,” by Rajvi Shah, PharmD; “Healing Our Healers: Provider Burnout and Mental Health,” presented by Francie Broghammer, MD, FABPN, in the Clinical Track; “Rising Above: Truly Differentiating Your Practice,” presented by Bethany Fishbein, OD; and “Retina Update: Looking Forward to 2024,” delivered by Joshua Mali, MD, and Jeffry D. Gerson, OD, FAAO.
