Coburn Technologies, a global leader in ophthalmic lens processing, announced the addition of the next generation lens edging platform, the Huvitz HPE-990 Lens Edger, to their in-office finishing system offerings.
HPE-990 is a high end, highly capable edger that is "locked-in" for premium edging precision. It is extremely reliable, ensuring safe and precise processing of specialty lenses, such as hydrophobic and high-curve lenses.
“Offering the new Huvitz HPE-990 is an exciting development for Coburn Technologies. Five years ago, we introduced the popular HPE-910 edger which was incredibly successful as a high-end yet affordable system. The new HPE-990 builds off the 910 platform, offering even more stability and enhancements,” stated Wayne Labrecque, vice president of Sales. “Since Coburn Technologies started offering lens edging systems nearly 35 years, and Huvitz systems over 14 years ago, in-office finishing in retail stores and eyecare practices has taken off, and we continue to commit to being a leading provider of complete lens processing solutions,” he continued.
Expanding on the HPE-910 platform, HPE-990 offers even more combinations of edging types, styles, beveling, and grooving for Plastic, Hi-Index, Polycarbonate, Trivex, and Glass lenses.
HPE-990 PRO – Highest capabilities for a wide range of lens jobs including Deep Step Bevel for lens-over-frame eyewear styles, plus an integrated drill
HPE-990 XD – Deluxe model including integrated drill, step bevel, true-bevel, u-bevel for high curve style frames
HPE-990 X – Deluxe model including step bevel, true-bevel, u-bevel for high curve style frames
HPE-990 D – Base model including standard bevels, grooving, and integrated drill
HPE-990 N – Base model including standard bevels and grooving
Each of the five models of HPE-990 have faster processing speeds and sophisticated controls.
HPE-990 PRO, the model with the most capabilities, performs the world's first Deep Step Bevel technology for lens-over-frame eyewear.
This feature allows step bevels up to 20mm, accommodating the trendy lens-over-frame eyewear style. Any HPE-990 model is perfect for an array of jobs ranging from standard, popular shapes to complex, unique, and trendy designs.
