Beyeonics Vision Ltd awarded seminal US patent covering breakthrough surgical imaging technology for cataract surgery

Beyeonics Vision Ltd., a global leader in advanced ophthalmic surgical visualization, today announced the issuance of a landmark U.S. patent covering core technology designed to transform the way surgeons visualize the eye during cataract and other ocular procedures.

The newly issued patent — titled “Systems and Methods for Imaging a Body Part During a Medical Procedure” — protects a 3D imaging system that uniquely integrates visible and infrared (IR) illumination, enabling unprecedented clarity, depth perception, and safety during surgery.

With over 30 million cataract surgeries performed globally each year, this technology is expected to play a pivotal role in establishing what may become the new standard of care in cataract surgery worldwide.

“This patent is a cornerstone in our intellectual property portfolio,” said Burton Tripathi, CEO of Beyeonics Vision Ltd. “By combining IR and visible imaging in a stereoscopic format, we’re enabling safer, more precise, and more ergonomic cataract surgery, as was presented by multiple KOLs at the April 2025 ASCRS meeting in Los Angeles. This is not just an incremental improvement , it’s a revolutionary innovation that can redefine surgical visualization for decades to come.”

Beyeonics Vision’s patented technology underpins its next generation visualization system the Beyeonics ONE, which is designed to integrate seamlessly with existing surgical workflows while elevating productivity, performance and patient outcomes.
