Beyeonics Vision announces first academic installation at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute

Beyeonics Vision, a leading innovator in digital visualization technology for Ophthalmology, announced its first academic installation of the Beyeonics One system at the renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute.

Bascom Palmer, consistently ranked as the #1 eye care facility in the United States, becomes the first academic institution to adopt the Beyeonics One system, reinforcing the company’s commitment to advancing surgical precision, training, and innovation in ophthalmic surgery.

This fully digital microscope is equipped with an augmented reality, immersive, high-resolution, 3D surgical visualization headset that replaces traditional analog microscopes for all eye surgeries.

Powered by invisible light (infrared) technology, Beyeonics One enhances visualization beyond the traditional spectrum, offering superior clarity, detail, contrast, and brightness in both anterior and posterior surgeries. Its unique “third hand” capability and intuitive head gesture controls enable increased independence and efficiency.

The ergonomic design reduces physical strain, potentially improving surgeon productivity and overall surgical performance.

Jorge Fortun, MD, a leading ophthalmic surgeon specializing in retina, will be utilizing the Beyeonics One system at Bascom Palmer.

Renowned for his innovative approach and contributions to the field, Dr. Fortun is integrating Beyeonics One to enhance surgical education. This advanced system provides assisting surgeons with an immersive, real-time view, offering shared or personalized orientations in both 180° and 90° modes.

Additional educational features include interactive teaching pointers, digital overlays for pre-surgical planning, digital recentering, live surgical broadcasting, and hands-free voice controls.

Dr. Fortun stated: “This technology is a game-changer for training the next generation of surgeons and will undoubtedly set new standards in ophthalmic surgery."

"Bringing this cutting-edge visualization system into the operating room demonstrates our commitment to adopting advanced technology for the benefit of both patients and surgeons," said Burton Tripathi, CEO of Beyeonics Vision. "Beyeonics One is transforming the future of ophthalmic surgery and providing a platform for enhanced training and surgical precision."
